Key Plant’s association, the number 1 when it comes to the welding automation equipment market, traces back over 55 years.

Throughout this time Key Plant has continued to supply, develop and revise their equipment from the sales of new and refurbished equipment to Key Plant’s large rental department and service centre through to more recent fully automated turnkey installations. In doing so, we have developed a knowledge and skill base that is second to none in the industry. Key Plant’s success is a product of these foundations and our versatility in being able to manufacture simple, through to highly sophisticated heavy engineering equipment all in house, under one roof. Along with developing better technologies to providing solutions to specific problems, for example, large capacity anti-drift rotators, cladding solutions and deep groove, narrow gap welding.

Key Plant continues to invest in new plant equipment, latest CNC machines and modernising the manufacturing process, to improve efficiency and productivity. A major investment has been made in personnel, developing their knowledge and expertise in the manufacturing process, and utilising this asset to its full potential for the benefit of our customers. Key Plant purchased the former F. Bode & Son factory complex in Leek, Staffordshire, after this company ceased trading in 2001. Also included in the sale was the complete stock of the stores, every jig and fixture, machines tools and fabrication equipment.

Key Plant also has a research centre, to design and test specialist machines. This also extends the possibility for customers, to perform test and weld trials on equipment prior to ever having the machines installed in their factory. Operators can also be involved with trials and trained in the use of new machinery at this facility.

Further investments into the latest design and HMI technologies, have further improved the capabilities of Key Plant, to design evermore complex machinery to meet the rigorous demands of our expanding customer base.

Because of all that, Key Plant is the only one in the world who achieved the UL Certificate that allows us to deliver highly specific markets.
